Lost Review for February 7

Um. What the frick?

That was - without a doubt - one of the weirdest episodes I have ever seen. The "Crack" aspect of Lost is so thick in my bloodstream now I'm ready to sell a child or two.

This episode was so scattered my review is going to be scattered as well.

First off - I love Locke's question - what is the monster. That's the very first mystery we were given years ago and I loved that he asked that. I swear I had a geek woody for a second there when I thought they would actually answer it.

Secondly - this show switched back to flashbacks instead of flashforwards. We find this when we see the dead girl with tall black man, the man behind the team sent to the Island. I still think this is Dharma. Especially now that we know they are after Ben. The team being with Dharma would also explain why the anthropologist didn't freak out seeing a Dharma collar around the polar bear in the desert.

Oh yeah. What the hell was with the bear out there? Buried? We know why the polar bear was on the Island - it was part of their experiments.

Another point - I'm happy Locke's team is finally questioning Locke. I mean on one hand - he doesn't want to kill Ben in front of his daughter. On the other hand, he throws a knife into the back of that girl. Now - maybe he thought - they will kill us all - better I kill her first - but still - it doesn't fly with me and I think his group of people would have been a lot smaller.

Oh - major plot point. The wreckage is obviously fake, placed there by someone (I think Dharma). We know this now because of the missing ring on the pilots body.

Did I miss anything?

Scott Stroz's Gravatar If I am not mistaken, the icon in the middle of the Dharm logo was one we have not seen yet.

Raymond Camden's Gravatar It was the Hydra. I believe we have seen it.

Jeffry Houser's Gravatar The guy giving Naomi the assignment at the end was the same one who visited Hurley in the institution.

My GF is thinking that each member of the "Helicopter Team" was a worker for a Dharma station. ( Whether they are past workers or intended to take over existing stations is unclear ).

Scott Stroz's Gravatar @Jeff - Your comment got me thinking. In the last episode, Matthew Abaddon, the guy who visits Hurley (and recruits the 'rescue' team), asks Hurley, 'Are they still alive?' This got me thinking that maybe the 'rescue' team doesn't get off the island.

Jeffry Houser's Gravatar Scott,

Makes sense to me. Doesn't mean their dead; just not off the island.

I'm sort of expecting that the "Oceanic 6" will get off the island the end of this season and we will watch their post-island lives unfold in conjunction with island events; eventually bringing them back to the island, perhaps?
