Lost Review for May 15, 2008

Sorry for the delay. Last night was a late night for me so I'm a bit behind today.

As it stands - last nights episode was another filler episode - but a really darn good one. A few things really stood out for me:

Look at the faces of the 5 people on the airplane. Everyone but Jack is pissed. Not sad. Not afraid. Pissed. This to me implies that Jack makes some kind of decision that gets them off the Island, but not in a way they like. It also implies that people are still alive. If everyone had died I think they would be filled with despair, especially Sun.

The Others: Is this who Ben who signaling? Or was it someone else? What do the Others have in mind? I am completely at a loss on this one.

Sun: While I thought the confrontation with her father was cool, I can't imagine Oceanic giving them enough money for her to buy a major corporation. (Or what I think is a big corporation.)

Hurley: Ok, I love this guy. Really. I especially love how he asks the questions we (viewers) ask. I loved the "If we move the Island and the bad guys are on the Island, don't they just follow us" question. I mean seriously. I've been asking the same thing myself.

So that's it for me. I mean I liked the episode - but that's all I really want to comment on. (Plus I got 3.5 hours of sleep so my RAM is a bit low.)

I was talking to Boyzoid about how I was worried that two more years would stretch it a bit - but you know - if they spend a whole year or two years on the Oceanic 6 trying to fight off Widmore and rescue the remaining survivors, I think it would work.

Scott Stroz's Gravatar I am not sure if this is a red herring or not, but the inflatable boat (I think Sayid called it a 'zodiac') does not appear to be the same boat shown when the 'Oceanic 6' arrived at the fishing village (according to the 'official' story)

Scott Stroz's Gravatar Oh, and the award for best line of the season (for ANY show) goes to Hurley's mother:

Scott P's Gravatar On the plane, Jack was sitting across the other 4 (5 counting baby) so you could be right about a divide between them.

I think it was the others that Ben was signaling - they were high up on that mountain so it would explain why we haven't seen them or had anyone run into them in a while. Since Ben knew to go to the orchid and obviously widmore knew they would go there, it seems that Ben wanted the others to come down to save him.

well the raft picture blows my theory about what happens on the boat.

Will Swain's Gravatar I reckon when Ben is talking about moving the island, he means in time not in space. So, he could move the island into a different timeline where Keamey is not on the island.

There's time travel popping up all over the place - how else could Richard Alpert (sp) always look the same age? And we know Desmond has time travelled.

I'm really enjoying the season. Looking forward to the season finale.

Will Swain's Gravatar Oh yeah, and I reckon you are right about some kind of rift between Jack and the other 6. Perhaps he accepted the fact he had to lie a lot easier than the rest of them. None of them other than Jack seemed at all happy about the lies in the press conference. In fact, it seems to have sent Hurley over the edge again.

Raymond Camden's Gravatar Thats an interesting idea Will -about moving to another time when Kreamy isn't there.

Will Swain's Gravatar Assuming this is authentic, then it gives us a clue about the Orchid's purpose:

I've googled the Casimir effect and am not enlightened, but it seems to have something to do with quantum physics, which could explain the timeline theory. Maybe they'll use the Orchid to move the island to a different quantum timeline. This could explain things like why Christian appears to be alive - he's skipped over from a quantum reality where he didn't die.

Anyway, I guess we'll know a little more after next week, although this being Lost, probably not a lot more. :)
