BSG - final cylon revealed

SPOILER - Don't read if you haven't seen the latest episode.

BSG set the bar for television series and yesterdays first episode of the the final 10 raised the bar. Many questions answered but many more questions were created. I'll throw out a few questions/comments/thoughts that I had. Some flow together and some are scattered.

Everyone is a cylon?

Earth causes people to be reborn? Maybe they in some sort of heaven/purgatory and not literally reborn? Explains starbuck being back.

Other people (models?) were around when bomb went off. There were other faces. Only 12 made it out?

I'm bad with names but tori/sam together, saul/ellen together, tyrol/boomer together. Did they make couples? dee/apollo.

No way dee doesn't come back.

The coupled up cylons on earth had kids - 12 models but those produced kids and the humans are off-springs from that. The 12 don't know that because they were killed and some of the memories didn't get downloaded. Maybe a purge that resets everyone - like a big ghost image that gets reloaded on the computers when they get too corrupted.

Why was lebon so freaked out when starbuck found starbuck? Maybe he realized some of the truth.

Are they really cylons? Who says that the human forms are really advanced models. If they were on earth and the humans had the ability to download their memories and live on forever, why wouldn't they build that into their machines? We think arms and legs are good to have and the robots of today are modeled like that. Why wouldn't they build in a way to maintain knowledge attained in their machines. Which means they didn't evolve, they were the creators.

From the first episode, we know a few things. What ever we think we know is probably false and it is going to be a great final 9 episodes.

Come over to the GTT forum and share your thoughts on the board.

Raymond Camden's Gravatar 1) "Everyone is a Cylon"

Where did you get that? The 13th Colony (Earth) was a Cylon colony, but not -everyone- is a cylon. Unless you meant us here on Earth.

2) Starbuck
I think there are more models and Starbuck is one of them. As you said, the flashback showed other faces, therefore, other models.

3) Memories
I always figured that the models who didn't know they were models were 'set' that way to help improve their infiltration chances.

4) Lebron freaking out:
Maybe they were wrong about the # of models. That covers Starbuck then and would explain why Lebron was freaked out.

5) Are they really cylons?

The whole cylon detection thing has been a mystery. Baltar 'solved' the detection problem back in season 1, right? But they never explained it. Is it something in the DNA? I'd think not - can you get DNA from bones?

Random notes:

Cylons are old. Way old. So did we not create them? Have they always been around?

Scott Stroz's Gravatar OK, Earth being populted by Cylons and not humans pretty much makes me thorw out everything we know about humans and cylons.

Its obvious this came as a surprise to the humans and cylons. So, I think:

1. Starbuck is a Cylon.
2. There are other Cylon models we don't know about. Is Starbuck #5 or is Helen?
3. The next 9 episodes are gonns kick some major ass.

Scott P's Gravatar Interview with Ronald Moore that confirms/answers some of the questions:
http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/entertainm...

an excerpt to tease you:
We see the flashback of Tyrol in that marketplace, and it seemed like a planet full of lots of different kinds of people, not just 12 different models. Is that right?

Yes.

That planet is Earth? We’re not going to find out, “Oh, there’s this other Earth over here...” This is the only Earth we’ll see?

They have found Earth. This is the Earth that the 13th Colony discovered, they christened it Earth. They found Earth.

Raymond Camden's Gravatar Yeah, that line stuck out for me too. To me, it was -very- interesting. It is certainly possible they are 'wrong' about it being Earth. That flashback though really looked like San Francisco.
