Dr. Who Returns

For those of us in the states, Dr. Who returns for season 4 tonight. It's the Christmas special, so technically it may not be the first episode of the new season, but who cares. My eldest loves Dr. Who and I can't wait to watch it with him tonight.

Star Wars: Clone Wars in Theaters in August

LucasArts has recently announced that on August 15th, the latest installment of the Star Wars saga will be released in theaters. This time in the form of an animated movie titled, The Clone Wars. In the fall, a television series of the same title will premiere on the Cartoon Network.

Check out this link for more details.

I enjoyed the Clone Wars cartoon shorts on the Cartoon Network and hope this movie and resulting TV series are as enjoyable.

Jericho Returns This Tuesday

Jericho, which in my opinion was one of the best shows on TV last year is set to return to the air Tuesday Feb 12 10:PM ET/PT.

Check out this link for more information about the upcoming season.

Did you know Lost was on tonight?

Well, ok, not on TV, but as online episodes of 2-3 minutes each. 13 of these episodes will launch - a new one each Monday. Apparently you can watch the first episode now, but I can't get their darn site to work right.

Edit: So as soon as I hit "save" the darn site works. Try this URL:

Premiers Tonight - Super Non Geek Night

Ok, so there are a lot of good shows starting tonight - none of which really qualify for "Geek-ness", but I absolutely love Thursdays. We've got:

My Name is Earl
The Office
CSI
ER

CSI is especially good - although all the weepy-emotional promos for the season opener are kind of turning me off. My wife and I just started watching ER two seasons ago, but really enjoy. The plane crash episode was one of my favorites. The special effects of the crash were subtle - yet creepy as heck. (Which is fodder for a whole other blog post - why creepy is better then gore.)

Bionic Woman Tonight

Don't forget that Bionic Woman starts tonight on NBC, at 8PM CST. A - um - "friend" of mine downloaded the show. This "friend" thinks the show may have potential. He wasn't blown away by it - but will watch a few episodes. And it has Katee Sackhoff, AKA Starbuck on BSG. Nuff said.

Prison Break, and K-Ville

Tonight marks the beginning (as far as I know) of new TV shows. At 7 CST we have Prison Break, currently on season 3, which is kind of bad when you consider it should have ended at season 1. I really liked this show when it came out - but frankly - they are just pushing this show too far. I'll watch it - but most likely with quite a bit of fast forwarding.

After Prison Break comes K-Ville. This show doesn't look that great, but as it is set in New Orleans (I live in Lafayette, LA), I'm curious to see how well they pull off the 'real' feel of the city. Normally Louisiana is not very well represented in the media. We are either all drunk off our asses at Mardi Gras, or shown as being voodoo worshipers.
